Meet Katia Campbell
Katia Campbell is a visual storyteller whose work captures the rhythmic dialogue between the coastal tides and her deep French heritage. A native of France, Katia finds a “silent music” in the challenge of alla prima oil painting, often using palette knives to sculpt richly pigmented landscapes and botanical studies.
Now a Wilmington local, Katia’s identity is anchored in the salt air of Wrightsville Beach and the “blue opulence” of the Lowcountry. Whether painting en plein air alongside her bilingual pug, Charlie, or working in her studio, she translates a lifelong reverence for art into luminous depictions of marshes and village vistas. Drawing inspiration from the masters of her lineage and the energy of Van Gogh, Katia bottles the atmospheric grace of the coast.
